Yuhasz spent the last twelve years as Director of Research and Communications for Dave Levac (Brantford-Brant) the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. In that role he was instrumental in efforts to secure funding for the YMCA/Laurier University (Brantford) athletic complex and the implementation of GO bus service for Brantford.
Yuhasz has significant experience working on Indigenous Nations’ concerns such as unresolved land rights, governance and ecological protection and integrity as a result of his focus on ecological sustainability and liveable city issues. Ecological activism has lead Yuhasz to serve seven years on the Board of Directors of the Grand River Conservation Authority. Prior to that he was involved in forming the Grand River Watershed Congress, a grassroots coalition of environmental groups throughout the Grand River watershed that supported public consultation for the Grand River Heritage River designation.
In the private sector Yuhasz spent several years leading a team of 400 supervisors and customer service agents for a tele-services company. Yuhasz and his team were very successful in exceeding their client’s performance metrics on a regular basis.
Yuhasz has decades of elite level championship sports experience both as an athlete and a coach, mostly in lacrosse and basketball. He is also a rabid Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors fan.
